How to update your password

Updating and resetting your password is super simple! Click one of the options below that best describes you:


Managing your password on Android mobile devices


Updating your password

If you’re logged into your account on the dscout mobile app, updating your password is simple. All you have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Access your profile by tapping on the Triple Horizontal Lines ☰ icon on the top-left corner of your screen.
  2. Tap on Update Password.
  3. Update your password here. Please note that your new password must be at least 8 characters long.

Forgot your password?

If you’re not logged in and have forgotten your password, follow these steps to reset your password.

  1. Open your dscout mobile app and tap on the Triple Horizontal Lines ☰ icon on the top-left corner of your screen.
  2. Tap on Sign In.
  3. At the bottom of your screen, you’ll see the Forgot Password? link. Tap on it and enter your email.
  4. Hit Submit to send yourself a password reset link. It may take you a few moments for the email to arrive in your email. Please make sure you also double check your spam folders for an email from participate@dscout.com with the subject [dscout] Reset password instructions.
  5. Once you’ve opened the email, tap on the Change my password button.
  6. Update your password here and tap the Change my password button to save. Please note that your new password must be at least 8 characters long.

Pro tip: If you didn't request a Reset Password Link, but have received one, please contact help@dscout.com.

Updating your password

If you’re logged into your account on the dscout mobile app, updating your password is simple. All you have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Tap on your Profile icon on bottom of your app’s navigation bar.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Update Password.
  3. Update your password here and tap Save. Please note that your new password must be at least 8 characters long.

  1. Open the dscout mobile app.
  2. Tap on Sign In.

Managing your password on the web


Updating your password

If you’re  logged into your account on the web, updating your password is simple. All you have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Click on your Profile icon on the top-right corner of the screen (please note: if you don't have a profile picture uploaded, you'll see your initials in a blue circle instead).
  2. Click on Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. On the page's header, click the Password button in between Profile and Demographics.
  4. Update your password here and click Save Changes. Please note that your new password must be at least 8 characters long.

Forgot your password?

If you’re  not logged in and have forgotten your password, follow these steps to reset your password on the web: 

  1. Navigate to www.dscout.com.
  2. On the top navigation bar, click on Sign In.
  3. On the log-in page, click on the Forgot your password? link.
  4. Enter your email address and click on the Send Password Reset button. It may take you a few moments for the email to arrive in your email. Please make sure you also double check your spam folders for an email from participate@dscout.com with the subject [dscout] Reset password instructions.
  5. Once you’ve found and opened the email, tap on the Change my password button.
  6. Update your password here and tap the Change my password button to save. Please note that your new password must be at least 8 characters long.

Unlocking your account

If you’ve tried one too many times to log into your account unsuccessfully, we'll let you know if you have one more attempt before your account is locked. If we do lock your account, we'll send you an email with instructions on how to unlock it. To unlock your account, follow the steps below:

  1. Search your inbox for an email from participate@dscout.com with the subject [dscout] Unlock Instructions
  2. Once you've found it and opened the email, click on the Unlock my account button.
  3. As soon as you click on the Unlock my account button, you'll be brought back to the log-in screen and your account will be unlocked. 
  4. Reset your password by clicking on the Forgot your password? link (see above).

Pro tip: Don't forget to check all of your email inboxes for an email from participate@dscout.com with your unlock account instructions.
