Getting paid for scouting via PayPal
After you complete a paid dscout mission (or a series of missions that are part of the same project), you'll get paid via PayPal. Once you complete the final mission in a project and it closes, you'll get an email from PayPal within two weeks–or 10 business days–indicating that your payment is ready. Just make sure to claim this payment within 30 days, and spend it however you'd like. You've earned it! :)
If you don't have a PayPal account yet, you'll be prompted to create one in order to receive your payment. (This should only take a few minutes, and you'll only need to do it once.) From then on, you'll be able to receive e-payments from dscout easily and quickly whenever you complete a project. If you'd still prefer a paper check, you'll have the option to ask PayPal to send you one for a small fee.
If your PayPal email and your dscout email are different, that's okay! You don't have to change a thing. Your payment notification from PayPal will include just a few steps that will allow you to link your accounts and claim your payment.
How to get paid for scouting via PayPal
Two weeks (or ten business days) after completing a dscout project, you'll get an email from PayPal letting you know dscout has sent you $$$! Here's what to do next.
1. Claim your money
Keep an eye out for an email from PayPal, and make sure to claim your money within 30 days.
2. Sign up or log in
If you don't already have a PayPal account, you can create one in only a few minutes. (You'll be asked for your home address and phone number for security purposes.) If you DO already have a PayPal account, just click the Log In button instead and log in using whatever email address you usually use for PayPal.
3. Choose how to get paid
Once you've claimed your money, you can either keep it in your PayPal account to use later, transfer it to your bank, or request that PayPal send you a paper check for a small fee. The choice is YOURS! 🤑 🤑 🤑
Possible payment issues and how to resolve them
If we try to pay you, and you get an email from support@dscout letting you know there's a problem, chances are your issue (and the easiest way to fix it) is listed below:
My PayPal account is registered to a different email address than the one I use for dscout
This isn't actually a problem! All you need to do is click the "claim your money" button on the email from PayPal letting you know your payment is ready. PayPal will automatically link your dscout and PayPal accounts! (Your PayPal account can be associated with multiple email addresses.)
But if you'd like to link your dscout & PayPal accounts manually, just click the settings gear icon at the top right when logged into your PayPal account, then scroll down the to the Email section. Add the email address you use for dscout, and you should be all set!
My PayPal account is inactive
If your PayPal account is registered to the same email address you use for dscout, but your PayPal account is inactive for some reason, you can either:
- contact PayPal to have your account marked as active again, or
- create a new PayPal account with a different email address, then update your dscout account so you're registered with that same email address
